Israel wants life for both Jews and Arabs and the terrorists do not want life for either Jews nor Arabs. The status quo of strategically running in circles must end or the conflict is at risk of repeating.

Let's take a step back and look at the philosophy behind this. When gratitude is replaced with desire for bloodshed, one must be willing to mitigate one's sense of generosity with the distribution of strategic footholds into the land, for the moment. The Knesset has had a long term problem coming to terms with this simple concept. Yes, they have received bad advice from friends, but they freely took said advice, and now this horror has come upon us.

With the impending regime change in Gaza, former PM Yair Lapid just suggested allowing the Palestinian Authority (Fatah) to replace Hamas as Israel's governor of choice in Gaza.

But “Abbas’s ruling Fatah faction has praised Hamas’s murder of 1,400 Israelis and called on the Palestinian public to attack the Jewish state.” You can’t just recruit new terrorists to fill the void.

—

Rather, here in my blog on Israel and International Law, Jerusalem Defender, I have long presented a safer method, a one state solution.

Key Concepts in the “Everyone Wins Peace Plan”

* Filtration of terrorists out from the pool of naturalization applicants.

* No relocating of masses of innocent people. No good person has to give up their homes; neither Jews nor Arabs.

* Qualifying Palestinian Arabs slowly but surely become complete Israelis without overwhelming the Israeli economy, infrastructure, nor electoral balance.

* The multiethnic IDF retains complete control.

Let's fix this in a way so that it will never happen again.

May a sane solution for lasting peace become popular. May it soon by so, by the grace of God.
Rabbi Prof. Alan Friedlanderhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18015225426683353932noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2069657810922176381.post-42253995178019106602023-03-12T11:35:00.000-07:002023-03-12T11:35:45.956-07:00It is Antisemitic to Question Israeli Authority Over the Holy Land
What is the consequence of if one assumes the land belongs to somebody other than Israel?

Find out who actually owns the land under actual International Law, not just what a bunch of angry politicians at the United Nations may rant about.

The Israelis who actually own the land should not be fought over it. Peace should be the default choice, not rebellion. The people it hurts the most is the Palestinian Arabs. By wrongly thinking they were oppressed, when this was only a 20th Century antisemitic fiction and they never ruled the land ever in history. This works to guarantee endless conflict, hatred and bloodshed. And the terrorists place Arab children in harms way.

If you promote a false narrative, that risks leading to violence. Yes, that began in an antisemitic way, but it is worse than normal antisemitism, as it also causes suffering to Arabs as well. Learn the full history of the Holy Land. Don't promote violence and endless conflict. It hurts both Jews and Arabs.

Discuss the advantages of peace. That way peace may flourish. The biggest problem is, not everyone in the Biden Administration seems to know what is the actual status quo in International Law that is currently existing on the Temple Mount today.

The actual Legal Status Quo is as follows: The Temple Mount and all of the land West of the River Jordan belong to Israel. From the Bible to San Remo to defensive war land reacquisition, to no historic Palestinian Arab home in Judea and Samaria and Gaza. The territories belong to Israel, and that is why the UN keeps expecting Israel to police it.

The Customary Status Quo is that the Palestinian Authority and the Muslim Waqf on the Temple Mount, are only as governors unless Israel fully gives the land away. It did not, the terrorists would not let them. That option is done with. Like a big sister who wanted to go to a party and hired a serial killer to babysit while the parents are out, the responsibility is still on the big sister, Israel, to keep the peace. If Israel continues to empower terrorists, once their violent hand is revealed, it from then on bears ethical and moral responsibility to an extent for the evil that the terrorists do; they empowered it. Even if your good friends mistakenly says, hire the serial killer. What is the end result? Therefore, do not listen to them; listen to your conscience instead.

The best way to advance Palestinian rights, is to remove their despotic terrorist leaders. Replace them with new Arabic regional councils. Replace the repressive Fatah and Hamas police with the multiethnic IDF. Let the good civilization building Arabs join the Israel of tomorrow. Let everyone share in the subsequent peace and prosperity.

The only way to keep Palestinian Arabs down, is to keep the wrong status quo in your mind, and within your policy. Rather remove the terrorists, and as a natural consequence, embrace true peace.

May it soon be so, by the grace of God.

Rabbi Prof. Alan Friedlanderhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18015225426683353932noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2069657810922176381.post-3015076049703473092022-09-21T06:14:00.002-07:002022-09-30T06:44:34.289-07:00Uman: In Harm's Way
Now that Russia has publicly offered warning to the Jews who wish to visit Uman for the annual Rosh HaShanah pilgrimage, this ought to be stated:

One does not put themselves into jeopardy for no good reason, even while claiming religious reasons. This extra caution isn't just an ideal platitude, it is a religious law. An act of religious faith, fulfilling the Torah command to guard one's wellbeing, and also to not risk burdening the community as well to attempt a rescue or provide medical care where it could have been avoided.

If there is a risk to life, even the laws of the Sabbath are pushed aside. So how come someone who has a strong enough yearning is suddenly allowed to risk themselves? The test of faith here, is in one's self restraint (hiskafia).

Therefore claiming one must go for reasons of faith into danger, may be OK for a prophet or firefighter, but not the average person.

As the Talmud says, "A person should never stand in a place of danger saying that God will perform a miracle for them, lest God does not perform a miracle for them" (Shabbos 32a)

For those are still planning to go, regardless. For whom said pilgrimage is as a vital part of their annual rituals, they should consult with the highest sage that they know, before considering doing so in this precarious situation of active war in that region.

One person described it as, “It is like being in love, I simply have to go.”
But in love with what? How does one love God in a way He does not want to be loved and calls that being devout? The way to love God, is to heed Him. We love God because He has asked us to. That is how we must worship Him, not merely what we choose to love.

The love should have been for the Torah. King Solomon wrote, "Do not forsake her (the Torah), and she will preserve you; love her and she will guard you. (Proverbs 4:6) and "He who acquires sense loves his soul; he who guards understanding will eventually find good." (Prov. 19:8)

Another person said, “This is a place we can’t give up on. Coronavirus or no, war or no — there’s not even a thought not to come,”
Not even a thought... Well, that much seems obvious.

The reaction for the rest of us?

If you know someone about to go, stop them. If you know someone who went, tell them to hurry home.

Whereas one who does not make any sacrifices for their faith should learn to be more zealous. Once these well intentioned zealots are safe, we can attempt to learn something good from their zeal. But not while they are in self inflicted jeopardy.

But rather than insulting them, let's pray for them. Pray for peace. Pray that those who are confused do not fall victim to their own foolishness. Pray that Divine wisdom is learned and absorbed by everyone, as is prophesied, "For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the water covers the seabed." (Habbakuk 2:14)

May it soon be so, by the grace of God.

* * * * *

Rebbe Nachman said, "Never insist that everything go exactly your way. Even in spiritual matters."

The key difference between criticism and hate, is the critic wants to improve the target of their critique. Whereas the hater wants to destroy their target, in a way that they feel they can get away with.

The helpful critic is one who evaluates policy by policy, and makes suggestions for the common good. They may even occasionally praise the target of their criticism.

Let's encourage helpful criticism.

The hater uses comprehensive kinds of insults that focus on the target of their libel as an irreparable criminal of some kind. Criminal state, as a phrase, can only refer to a terror state, in truth, not a country with demonstrated good intentions and kindness to strangers. This brings us to the other aspect of haters, that their hateful agenda is more dear to them than the truth. Their own twisted truth allows them to pursue their own sense of justice, in their minds.

But justice can only be true, if objectively applied.

Therefore we must seek the truth behind the news media story, and then go further. To use only one news source in the current news media scene, will not give one the depth of objectivity necessary to find the truth.

We should oppose hate, and also share important information as a crisis may appear.

That's why I created this group:

PUSH BACK! The Two State Solution is proven as perpetuation of conflict. Many have relabeled a One State Solution as a kind of large melting pot of unity. Such could not work in the Middle East, where it would result in sleeper cells of terror. Rather, the choice is as before, to support a democratic state or to build a terror state in the future. Only by enhancing Israel by adding lawful Arabs can a version of peace find traction. But terrorists cannot be invited to join the united Israel of tomorrow.

Although I have written about this numerous times, starting when Heaven guided me to compose the Everyone Wins Peace Plan, since the days of the Bush Administration, I will refresh the topic. The definition of a One State Solution is the greatest impediment to support for this. No critics of this plan have sustained their opposition once they understand what I am saying. This matter requires precise understanding. The current narrative out there risks redefining what a workable One State Solution can be. But the only true path is still the same.

Key Concepts in the Everyone Wins Peace Plan

* Filtration of terrorists out from the pool of naturalization applicants.

* No relocating of masses of innocent people. This means no good person has to give up their homes; neither Jews nor Arabs.

* Qualifying Palestinian Arabs slowly but surely become complete Israelis without overwhelming the Israeli economy, infrastructure, nor electoral balance.

* The multiethnic IDF retains complete control.

The two philosophic legs that Everyone Wins stands on is that:

1) Peace is guaranteed in the future by God Himself, and by working oneself backwards from the prophecies of the future, most paths to peace are revealed as flawed. God's Holy Word is the best possible source of intel, and I took the Torah seriously when forming a suggested plan to peace.

2) All humans are made in God's image and have the potential for holiness. Terrorists reject that to the point of a perpetual threat of bloodshed, and cannot be members of society. Remove terrorists from a group of any humans, and you have only a highly valuable pool of human resources.
Arabs are good. Terrorist are not. Remove terrorists, and only productive potential citizens remain.

When the philosophy of diverse people is unified, then there can be peace. The philosophy must be based on an end to terror, for civilization to be enhanced. To be a united state of civilization builders.

May it soon be so, by the grace of God.

Please contact me if you wish to discuss this further.

Email

It's hard to codify all that we have written in over a decade, into a single 420 word post, so perhaps you have a question on this.

Rabbi Prof. Alan Friedlanderhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18015225426683353932noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2069657810922176381.post-31727028723481736202021-05-28T15:33:00.000-07:002021-05-28T15:33:20.598-07:00Interview with Russell Kirk on the Possibility of Peace After the Hamas Attack

Does there still remain a method to prevent further violence against Israel, without requiring an all out war to wipe the slate clean of terrorism?

(Video runtime 37:11)

Key Concepts in the Everyone Wins Peace Plan
* Filtration of terrorists out from the pool of naturalization applicants.

Against Anti-Israelism & Anti-Semitism To Protect Jews Worldwide

Israel is under attack from Hamas. But at least Israel has guns to defend itself. The sooner Israel defeats it's enemies foreign and domestic, the sooner Jews worldwide will find acceptance. This happened in 1967, in the aftermath of a reunified Jerusalem. By the grace of God, it will happen again. The final results of the election are scheduled to come in December. In a contested election such as this, it is like choosing sides to proclaim a winner early, and that is not diplomacy for non Americans, nor unity for Americans. There is a danger if the focus is only on winning, and not on achieving a better unified nation on the morrow.

It is understandable for Biden himself to claim it. It is irresponsible for any journalist to. It challenges the pursuit of due process in American law. Dear God, why are so many doing it? They are becoming for America a worse threat than their depiction of Trump. Look at actual policies, not just speech patterns. What an ordeal this is! This runaway slander and libel needs to have limit. Like shouting fire in a crowded theater, the media has been electioneering for 4 years against Mr. Trump, not reporting facts.

At the possible departure of a historic friend of the State of Israel, I urge greater patience than some may be feeling, or showing. If Trump leaves office, whenever that may be, let it be with dignity, as he has shown the State of Israel.

We should respect the final results, however they may be, and treat the winner with respect we would want for our own candidate, whether or not the winner is the one we may prefer.

May God bless President Trump, and may the true winner of the election soon be revealed so that the nation may unite behind the results. Let our stance further justice and foster unity, not the very opposite.

We should respect the winner of the election, whoever he may be. But the fairness of the voting tally must be shown, in order for the country to unite behind him.

The allegations of voting fraud are multifarious and many of them are extremely compelling. No cynicism at the charges of fraud, please! Silence critics with evidence, not more allegations. Law leads to order. Lawlessness leads to anarchy.

Let the charges be proven true or false. The losing side must know the veracity of the ultimate results.

That is the only peaceful way to end this. I taught Political Science and American History at the collegiate level, and I’m not exaggerating.

God bless America. And win or lose, may God bless Donald J. Trump as well. May the best possible results be revealed, and may it soon be so, by the grace of God.
Rabbi Prof. Alan Friedlanderhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18015225426683353932noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2069657810922176381.post-60008878453645061972020-01-23T11:13:00.000-08:002020-01-23T11:21:54.612-08:00The Eretz HaKadosh Platform of the WZO Elections

We can easily recognize the Zionist and Democratic elements in Israel's government today, but we still have politicians insulting people who are merely trying to be religious in the Holy Land. We can't just demand Arabs acknowledge us as Jewish, and then turn around and attempt to deny Jewish expressionism within the Holy Land, the center stage for said religiosity.
In support of enhancing religious freedom in Israel, I endorse the Eretz HaKadosh platform for the World Zionist Organization (WZO) elections, January 21 through March 11, 2020.
This is the current weak link in the goals of the organization in relation to Knesset activity, which are supposed to include:
"Strengthening Israel as a Jewish, Zionist and democratic state and shaping it as an exemplary society with a unique moral and spiritual character, marked by mutual respect for the multi-faceted Jewish people, rooted in the vision of the prophets, striving for peace and contributing to the betterment of the world."
In addition, due to the Talmudic concept of Kol Yisrael Areivim Zeh BaZeh (All Jews are guarantors for one another,) there is no doubt effort to combat Global Antisemitism will be redoubled, even more so, as a religious duty, should Eretz HaKadosh gain greater influence.

The electorate at least knows what to expect from those claiming to be right minded political parties. This can all be for the best.

Avigdor Lieberman said, "there must be a government that reflects the interests of the entire public."
My question is... Does he feel Chareidim have interests that need reflecting too? They got 10 more seats than him and he feels he can dictate all terms.

Shas chairman and Interior Minister Aryeh Deri confirmed Bibi's version of the story.
"Netanyahu poured out his heart after the elections. He was very hurt and told me that he could not form a government because he knew that Liberman was determined not to let him establish it," he added.

"I thought I was hearing hallucinatory things. I told him he was wrong. This is the first time I felt extorted," the Shas chairman said. "We did not know that we had such an ideological opponent. I feel attacked and hurt. One man decided to drag Israel to elections because of hatred. It pains me."

Minister Deri stressed that even after the next elections, Shas will support Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu. "As we proved in the last elections, whoever votes for Shas votes for Netanyahu and Shas. We will continue with the line and support Netanyahu and he is our only candidate."

Whereas Agudath Yisrael had previously agreed to Netanyahu's suggested compromise on the draft issue, but Leiberman rejected that as well.

I was impressed by the growth of Lieberman as Defense Minister, but despite all the hard work to prepare the banquet, the food has spoiled. Even if he is right about being tougher with Hamas, I can no longer, in good conscience, recommend him anymore as an option to vote for. He is not to be relied on to join any government that is not prepared to give him every single item of all that he asks.

Tourism Minister Yariv Levin, who headed the Likud’s coalition negotiating team, said it was clear to him that Avigdor Liberman was not planning to join a prospective government. That was clear, Levin said Thursday in an interview on Reshet Bet, because of the “ridiculous” demands he made as his price for doing so.

“Unfortunately, it was clear to me that Liberman was not interested in joining the government, for several reasons – among this his unbelievable stance on the draft law.” Liberman had demanded that the law be passed on its second and third reading in exactly the same form that Yisrael Beytenu proposed it in its first reading – something that never happens, Levin said. “There is no such thing as a bill that is not changed in its second and third reading,” he added.

Although there are only five Yisrael Beytenu MKs, Liberman demanded that his party get three ministries, and directorship of five government offices.

Lieberman essentially made an impossible demand and then cried out, "Look, the Chareidim and Bibi said no!!" He implied that Likud member(s) did not keep previous agreements that were made behind the scenes. Yet publicly he is presenting a person that does not seem to even care about the opinions of those who do not agree with him. If he is as correct, as he feels that he is, he has certainly not presented a sufficient case for his stance. We are left with only his obstructionism as his way of explanation.

Likud’s top coalition negotiator Yariv Levin, attacked Israel Beiteinu chairman Avigdor Liberman on Thursday morning: “The other partners showed responsibility and were willing to make far-reaching compromises to meet Liberman [more than] half way – and everyone had agreed in advance he would receive a much larger share, just so he would have no excuse and no reason to enter the government.”

Is this still about what's best for Israel, Avigdor? All that taxpayer wealth down the drain for arguing about something you knew would happen anyway. Well, at this point it seems, if he is not going to be a part of any Likud government, then things are improving already.

"Good sense will grant favor, but the way of the treacherous is harsh. Every cunning person acts with forethought, but a fool exposes stupidity. " (Proverbs 13:15,16)

Dear political leaders. There are enough politicians in the world that try to wield power to get their way. Let's be diplomats out there. May it soon be so, by the grace of God.

How can one make a treaty work with the Palestinian Authority? Assuming you mean a treaty fairly minded and negotiated, then in short, you can't. This is why they are not bothering to risk sitting down with the Trump Administration. They can't handle the concept of an honestly brokered deal and that is the kind of deal President Trump is offering. The PA depended on undue pressure on Israel before each meeting with them. That is no longer there. But if the PA were to change, and they somehow do take up President Trump's offer, then here is a suggestion on how to take on such an opportunity to make it as successful as possible.

The Palestinian Authority, in PLO fashion, historically wanted things stacked against Israel before they would come to the table. Arafat's strategy of peace negotiations in between periods of rearmament has continued to be PA/Hamas strategy. A war with words while they clandestinely continued to gather bullets behind the scenes. Ever champing at the bit to conquer rather than seek actual peace for both sides.

In the past I have demanded justice against, not negotiation with the Palestinian Authority. As my philosophy ranks Palestinian Arabs as a valuable asset to Israel, I called instead for regional leaders among them to be replacement leaders for negotiations. I rejected calls to oust them from the country. Had I been asked before Israel or the Trump Administration were to begin the new talks I would have suggested getting this done before the workshop. Cleaning the table before you serve the meal.

Nevertheless, even within current realities, it's not too late to deal with the obstinacy of the PLO run PA when setting up a negotiation session. Adding non terrorist leadership candidates to the Palestinian Authority negotiation team would allow continuity in the subsequent talks with the PA even if current PA leadership force a breakdown in negotiations, as expected. If successful, these politicians among the Palestinian Arabs can become future leaders. It is for this very reason, that the current leadership will not allow it if they have a choice. No Palestinian Authority leadership elections since forever makes this supposition of mine just common sense. Nevertheless, if peacemaking is the goal, this idea of adding fresh leaders to the PA can be a stipulation made, as a prerequisite for the next step.

It is possible that this is in the back of the mind of the Trump Administration. That the reason for inviting so many Arab business men to the Bahrain Economic Workshop, is perhaps to find non-belligerent people to talk to. At the least there is a potential that there may be developed a pool of more vocal pro peace with Israel advocates throughout the Arab world.

In the past, Arab League unity for peace were effectively not much different than tactics according to Arafat strategies of conquest. If the Trump administration can at least find people who are willing to go on record for actual peace that does not risk Israel, then something positive has a distinct possibility to occur.

As for Israel, even if Netanyahu remains PM, policy of toleration of PA violence must cease. How many generations of violence is expected be required according to the current plan of Netanyahu, and certainly of those to his left, before Israel will have a partner in peace? Wait it out is the best they are offering. But if rather Israel would filter out terrorists from the Palestinian Arabic leadership, then true partners in peace could be found. Real peace could then be obtainable as soon as this year.

I had the honor of meeting with Dr. Mordechai Kedar in New York last week. He supports a 2 state solution, while I support a 1 state solution. But both of us agreed in our discussion that some kind of a terrorist filter is an essential prerequisite to lasting peace with Palestinian Arabs.

To ease research on this wonderful plan, I am including an index of the key blog posts that deal with the plan and key factors that led to it all in this one post. Please feel free to join with me in the great work of attempting to bring peace to the world. Please research the plan, and then when you feel comfortable contact the members of parliament that you deem appropriate. You can e-mail me any questions that you feel urgent. <a href="mailto:author@jerusalemdefender.com" style="color: #956839; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", sans-serif; font-size: 11.18px;">author@jerusalemdefender.com

But as always it cannot hurt to emphasize, that this is a plan that HaShem/God gave to the world, through this writer; I freely admit. As this plan fits Torah ideals for peace, under the circumstances in our time, and does so, more than any other peace plan that is known, it seems to me that it is factual to say that this is more God's plan than my own.

But as I seem to be the interface for explaining it, I must continue to remain open to communication for those who would know more about applying it in practice. I would rather hide under a rock than try to take credit for that which God has done, but what can I do under the circumstance? It is the nature of the times and this mode of communication that self-promotion is required just to present a dialog. If it turns out that this is the path the world peace, how can I withhold it for even an instant from God's creations? The Lord's command of not remaining idly by the blood of one's fellow forbids that.

There is a difference between making peace in this situation in the Holy Land, and in other conflicts. In this situation, innocent are mixed in with the severely guilty. Making peace with a criminal instead of punishing their criminality is in contradiction with the most basic principles of criminal justice. The innocent should be saved, the heinous criminal must face corrections. There is also the third part of the population that neither wants the terrorist rule of the Palestinian Authority nor to ever join with Israel in a One State solution that will maximize prosperity for everyone within it. Therefore we need to discuss how to deal with each of these elements of the overall Arabic peoples in the territories, with individualized policy toward each population segment.

True One-State solutions should not allow potential pockets of armed resistance that each time a police action is called for, would risk a potential hasbara nightmare every time. The IDF needs full access to police the land, without risk of potential international conflict at each and every turn. But innocent Arabs should not be expelled and should be given an option to naturalize slowly, filtering naturalization applicants as one would credit card applicants to elevate those Arabs with the greatest lack of terroristic tendencies to be absorbed first. But exile is only for those not champing at the bit to kill again. Those who would kill again must be taken out of the equation. They should be in jail or not in this world, and not being sent to exile immediately into the ranks of an enemy army. Changing from being a card-carrying member of Hamas to one of Hezbollah does nothing for regional stability.

Terrorists are not from a city that we are attacking and whom should be given a chance to flee, (as per Maimonides, Laws of Kings, Chapter 6.) Terrorists are enemies that have blood on their hands. They have tasted blood, and they desire to frenzy on that blood again. Exile is also not for good people who could contribute to Israel and they should be valued by our nation. Exile is only for those who are unhealthy for society but not with a track record of trying to commit bloodshed. In each category, the solution, if done in this way is a conclusive solution, in each of these 3 categories (of the Innocent, of Significant-Risk, and of Terrorists), and that is the path to true peace; a peace that is unlikely to be broken. Also by giving no hope of freedom to terrorists, it creates a penal aspect that is vital to prevent future recidivism among them and to discourage it toward future generations of Arabs otherwise potentially likely to become like them, Heaven forefend.

Therefore there must be a peace that allows the good people to escape terrorist rule, the bad people to not escape justice, and to those who are in between, the right to go into exile if they refuse to choose peace. It is their choice that is forcing them from their homes, but at least we can free them from being under the rule of terrorists. The terrorists are willing to toss people off of rooves to plunge to their deaths and are thus too cruel even to their own people to be allowed to rule if we have anything to say in it. As stated previously, Israel, even today, has the legal responsibility under international law, for all the territories, even Gaza, and so we must make this important choice for the betterment of all good people West of the River Jordan.

As we stated previously, the beginning of peace does not come by the placation of terror; that is its anathema. At its end, there must neither be the destruction of innocent societies. You can't make peace with terrorists, but you can with people.

By understanding that there is a difference between regular people and terrorists, then we can say the following: The key is in not living in the moment of the criminal's perspective but in the objective needs of good public policy for the vast majority of the people, every single innocent citizen. That a person not be judged based on race but only whether they wish to join in civilization building. Civilization builders cannot coexist with terrorists.

This terrorist filter is a key difference between my Everyone Wins peace plan and all the other one state solutions. All good and innocent can and will be saved therein. Therefore may the Everyone Wins peace plan become the Peace Policy of the State of Israel, and may it soon be so, by the grace of God.
Rabbi Prof. Alan Friedlanderhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18015225426683353932noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2069657810922176381.post-78241791182773292142018-04-20T07:01:00.000-07:002018-04-21T13:02:42.240-07:00Which Peace Plan Would You Select?
Is the status quo tolerable? In the 1990's Israel's government had such an urge to remove the status quo that they hit the panic button and ran with a plan (Oslo Accords) that was not fully thought through and had no end game calculated. They wanted peace but did not think the methodology through. The result was much suffering and bloodshed. To prevent another tragic mistake like that, Israelis must select a path that could be followed the next time a government considers a peace plan. Therefore now, while calm and collected thoughts are possible, is the time to choose the most ideal peace plan possible, to have in place already before it is absolutely needed. This could be the difference in preventing another Oslo-like disastrous decision.

As most Israelis believe that the Torah is a true document, whether or not the majority is observant, the point is that they believe that God is real, and the Torah represents Divine Knowledge granted to all generations of humanity. That being the case, as we mentioned previously, it is important to treat prophecy as the best kind of intel available. As we also mentioned previously, the prophecy of Ezekiel foretells that the land immediately to the North and South of Jerusalem will be in the territory of the Israel of the future. Therefore no peace plan that tries to give up Judea and Samaria can work long term.

The point of peace is to prevent war, not guarantee it. If it is a matter of preordained destiny that Israel own Judea and Samaria, then trying to give those territories away only guarantees further bloodshed. If someone gave up Judea and Samaria they would be falling into a trap that will as a matter of destiny, lead to war. Therefore no peace plan that tries to give up Judea and Samaria can achieve lasting peace. Therefore we must disqualify all peace plans that try to.

All the widely known plans that have been offered up by Labor, Kadima and even Likud go against the grain of Israel's destiny. All the plans of these parties, have unwittingly lead into cascading paths to bloodshed. We can't keep hitting the same wall and then complain about a lack of progress.

Only 3 widely-known plans have a clear path that avoids the pitfall we have discussed. Rabbi Elon's Jordan is Palestine, Caroline Glick's One Israel Solution, and my Everyone Wins Peace Plan.

Jordan is Palestine clears the territories the most efficiently but is extremely unlikely to be implemented. Jordan already feels overwhelmed by their population and would not likely accept millions more without a massive aid package (bribe) that no nation or group of nations in the West are likely to offer. Therefore Jordan Is Palestine is not an option.

The Glick plan does not fix the problem in Gaza, and it does not filter the applicants for immigration and naturalization other than to select a large number of them to be non-citizen residents of Israel, which reduces the effectiveness of the plan. Apparently, she wants to give the Arabs more freedom of choice, but in this situation, the choice to not join with Israel is potentially a foot in the door for jihad down the road, we need them to join us or leave. A middle option should not be an option unless the logistics of a long naturalization process demand it, and in such a circumstance it would be a temporary classification, not a platform for any political statements by non-citizens. By denying a right to vote long term, you create a potential hasbara concern long term.

Whereas the Torah only separates between religious duties, such as in the national Temple, but for tort law, unity and fair play are encouraged. "There shall be one law for the native and for the stranger who resides in your midst." (Exodus 12:49) The term, Resident, in the Torah refers to good gentiles, not second-class citizens, "If your brother becomes destitute and his hand falters beside you, you shall support him (whether) a convert or a resident so that he can live with you." (Leviticus 25:35)

Nevertheless, the Glick plan does give full Israeli authority to lands in Judea and Samaria. If there were no other plans that do not attempt to fail by giving up Judea and Samaria, then this would the plan to support. Though, if between the Glick plan and Jordan is Palestine, Jordan is Palestine does offer much greater security than does the Glick plan assuming a bribe-Jordan plan is worked out in the backrooms of the EU and the Arab League. One Israel Solution allows the Gaza nightmare to continue, Jordan is Palestine does not. Yet Jordan is Palestine is not very likely to be viable.

Fortunately, there is the Everyone Wins Peace Plan. Unilateral, so no other nation need be coaxed or bribed, and it is strong against terror, demanding a filter on all applicants for naturalization. It also ends the Gaza nightmare. Arabs can choose to keep their homes and share in the prosperity of the Israel of tomorrow, or go into exile or jail with those who worship terrorism.

Terrorists who are willing to kill their own children for military gains are comparable with the child sacrificing Molech worshipers, and Scripture commands regarding such people, "You shall not form a covenant for them or for their gods." (Exodus 23:32) They cannot separate from their ideology, and therefore they cannot be given land which instantly is considered by them a staging ground for further bloodshed. They only need lie that they want peace, and their jihad is advanced by the stroke of a pen. This undermines a key brick in the foundations of International Law, the reliability of treaties.

Those sincere Arabs that choose to stay are offered full citizenship when the adjustment period ends. This naturalization process is slow enough to not change the voting ratio in the State of Israel, but sure enough that it ends doubt of which direction Israel is going in.

Everyone Wins allows people of all backgrounds to be equal with only one caveat, they have to want to build civilization, not destroy it. Everyone Wins removes the false impression of any continued segregation in any territory under Israel's control based on race, and only punishes the guilty. Only a choice for jihad could keep an Arab from becoming an Israeli sooner or later. The choice is theirs. But security, even over Gaza, begins from day one of the plan. May it soon be so, by the grace of God.
How does the Everyone Wins Peace Plan differ from all others? It is based on the philosophy of Abraham, the forefather of Jews and Arabs. By trusting the love of a father, we can find a way to peace between the children. Abraham said, "Let Ishmael live before You." (Genesis 17:18) But it was recorded in the holy Torah to not only record a conversation with God but to teach a lesson to us as well. We should consider the facts of the matter without agonies of the past overwhelming our judgment. In short, that we cannot abandon the Arabs in the territories to terrorists that we armed in a failed peace attempt two decades ago. Also, if they would desire to join our nation, we would be better off for it. Nonterroristic Arabs are an asset to a lawful society, not a curse. Therefore we need to filter out terrorists from the good Arabs and then save as many precious roses from among the thornbush as we can.

If using a Torah perspective, it is assumed that the Jews have a right to their own land. If trusting that the Scripture has the most accurate intel possible, then any peace plan must take into account that the Jews are destined to have contiguous borders emanating directly to the North and South from Jerusalem. (Ezekiel, chapter 48) That means any peace plan would be doomed to fail if it did not end with Israel having full control of Judea and Samaria (the West Bank.) As we mentioned before, there is another plan that gives full Israeli control without leaving a belligerent Arab militia in the way, this is Rabbi Elon's plan, i.e. Jordan is Palestine. From this aspect of Scripture-as-intel, either of these two plans could work.

But from the Abrahamic perspective, only Everyone Wins should be implemented. Even if somehow the Kingdom of Jordan agreed to overwhelm their population further and said Jordan is Palestine is agreeable to them, from our forefather's perspective, it would seem unacceptable, at least to my reading. The Abrahamic clause of 'Let Ishmael Live', would be met, but 'Before You', would not be met.

Further, the political problems after implementation are deep. First, it depends on the Kingdom of Jordan to not only allow it to occur, but next Jordan would need to build affordable housing and provide jobs fast enough to prevent massive discontent from everyone who just lost the societies that they held dear and do this for millions of people. It could take a great amount of money from the Western nations and Arab League to implement such a plan and remove the probability of failure; so it would burden many nations as well. They were gung-ho for the Oslo Accords, would they be for Jordan is Palestine as well? The potential to destabilize our most stable neighbor is not a sign of being on the direction toward World Peace.

At the time it was invented, Jordan is Palestine was the closest to the true Torah method to peace, allowing for the future prophecies to occur without further war, so I don't fault Rabbi Elon or his followers. That plan led to Everyone Wins. A natural consequence of trying to do things the Torah way leads to the question, how can we do it best.

In recent years some leaders in Israel have spoken of annexing Judea and Samaria but leaving all Arabs including terrorists in the heartlands. Those plans that would follow Oslo Accord relics like Areas A, B and C would be worse than full annexation plans like the Glick plan. Just in case one would think that a plan like the Glick plan is closer to the Torah than Rabbi Elon's plan, allow me to point out the following. While this would end the hasbara nightmare in the Eastern territories, but continue the potential for it in Gaza, it would also leave machine guns in the hands of those sympathetic to terrorists. It would establish the current risk to Israeli citizens as the norm for yet another generation only with the IDF in control, it would be a less violent direction for the nation to go in, but not a full resolution of danger, as Jordan is Palestine or Everyone Wins would provide.

Plans like the Glick plan would technically add the territory of Ezekiel's prophecy but seem unlikely to enable a smooth and non-violent transition ushering in a period of World peace which is prophesied to come. Whereas Oslo-remnant preserving plans like Likud currently supports, are doomed to fail from a Torah perspective and would enable launching pads for civil unrest in the heartlands, to be decided by the whim and fiat of unrepentant terrorists, as Israel already knows too well. Israel smuggled in arms in the 1940's, a terror army would always be trying to imitate the same even if their guns alone were confiscated. They need to be dealt with conclusively. Let's wisely implement just and humane policy, not only one or only the other and not without the inspiration of Torah values.

Everyone Wins has the best of all types of peace plans, without the negatives of any. It is an annexation plan that filters out terrorists and allows as many good people as possible to keep their homes and societies. It is also a plan that enables unilateral action so it can be implemented without delay or preapproval. It does not discriminate against race but only whether a person wants to be a builder of civilization or not. At a time when the Americans are open to a One State solution, it is extremely viable.

God told Abraham, that the land would belong to his descendants. God repeated that vow to Isaac, Jacob, Moses, and Joshua. But it began with Abraham. How Abraham views these matters must be taken into consideration. If God wanted us to only think of what is best for our people, He could have begun His pledge by speaking to Jacob, but instead, He spoke to Isaac and Abraham before him, perhaps this was so that we would consider the needs of our cousins as well when we made peace.

Isaac sent Edom to Seir, to become Israel's neighbor, but Abraham said Let Ishmael live before you. Isaac and Abraham were both prophets, with each the best possible advice was given. Edom in the time of Joshua would become neighbors to Israel, and Ishmael in our time would join with us to make this state into a greater nation.

The Hebrew word for "let" in this verse allows for an alternate translation. The simple meaning is as a stated wish, but it can also be translated, "if only." A conditional wish.
"If only My people would hearken to Me if Israel would go in My ways. In a short time I would subdue their enemies and upon their enemies, I would return My hand." (Psalm 81: 14-15)
If only Ishmael is good, then we can save him and bring him into our land to dwell with us.

We learn from the holy Torah's discussion of laws of charity, to treat good gentiles similar to one's brother, "If your brother becomes destitute and his hand falters beside you, you shall support him (whether) a convert or a resident, so that he can live with you." (Leviticus 25:35) The commentary of Rashi states, "a convert or a resident: Even if he is a convert (גֵּר) ger or a “resident (תוֹשָׁב) toshav.” And what is a “resident”? Any (gentile) who has accepted upon himself not to worship idols, even though he eats (non-kosher) carrion."
Therefore I say we should show charity to Yishmael, so that he may live with us as our father Avraham intended. The only proviso, he does not bow to the idolatry of violence and terror.

Ishmael can only be welcomed if he is as a spiritual brother, i.e. not abusive and violent. Therefore the gentle and innocent among him must be collected to remain, and those dedicated to anarchy and terror must be excluded from society, rejected from the land, or otherwise brought to justice for their bloodshed. If Ishmael is a terrorist he has to go. If Ishmael is humble and gracious, then the truth is revealed; we are as brethren. Our mutual forefather Abraham had a wish even as he was told of great tidings regarding Isaac, that we should allow Ishmael to live before us. We are family and that is what family should do.

Everyone Wins remains the best way to attempt to bring peace in a way that respects not only the intel of the Torah but as we have written here, it is the only peace plan on the table that contains the precise nuanced philosophy of it as well. Therefore may it be accepted as the one path to peace in Israel. May it soon be so, by the grace of God.
BUT, the initial bill should have included a multi-staged enlistment with exceptions allowed from the start, and then this controversy and the subsequent action would not have needed to happen.

Bennett said, "The 'coalition crisis' is hollow (political), there's nothing in it." He said,"The truth may not be popular, but I'll say it anyways: There is a draft compromise, which takes into the fact that over the past decade, more and more haredim are drafting into the IDF each year. If anyone thinks that the IDF can, and knows how to, integrate dozens of thousands of haredim all at once - he is mistaken. The IDF wants exactly this pace."

This is all from the failure of those who support the change to not take a moment to listen to the Chareidim, and turned the initial vote into a battle to be won, and the Chareidim, as a portion of the population to be controlled. Now that it was won, they awaken to the concept that civilians were targeted in their haste. Many members of the Knesset seem to not understand this even at this stage of things.

As MK Oren Hazan (Likud) previously stated, "During the two thousand years of exile, when the Jews prayed in private, quietly, and secretly, sanctifying the name of God, [Torah study] suited us. Today, when we have a state, we won't let them learn Torah? Are we crazy?" Hazan asked.

If the Knesset had shown more sensitivity, would the Chareidim have been looking forward to the integration a bit more? The opportunity to know that was lost by a lack of consensus building prior to the previous vote. Once you know you will win a piece of legislation, it then becomes time to ensure the implementation of the proposed law will be accepted by the people without contention and hurt feelings all around. There was nothing to lose, except all that they could gain, had they chosen to consensus build at that time. Gloating is not consensus building.

Hopefully, and God willing, the current political efforts will make up for the discriminatory aspects of the recently passed legislation. Perhaps it is not too late to turn this into a good thing for the Chareidim also. But that does not remove the poor intentions of some in the Knesset to continue to discriminate against anyone who is not in their own image, who did not perform military service as they did. They were in the army in their youth, so also must the chareidim. Whether the IDF actually needs more soldiers at the moment is one of the factors such MKs refuse to consider. Facts are not welcome by them, only how they feel is that which determines how they vote. At least that is the impression they are giving.

But what if, for example, they had offered Chareidim to volunteer at hospitals instead of army service, does anyone think they would have protested so? No, only out of a spirit of trying to make, the Israel of tomorrow, in their own image, and not in the best interests of the collective population of Israel, did these lawmakers act.

Israel deserves better leadership than that. A leadership that can be wise about tomorrow and sensitive to the people of today. May the quality of leadership in Israel improve. May it soon be so, by the grace of God.Rabbi Prof. Alan Friedlanderhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18015225426683353932noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2069657810922176381.post-20733004822497662502017-12-28T13:30:00.000-08:002017-12-28T14:24:50.466-08:00Jerusalem Defender Ten Year Anniversary
Today is the Tenth of Teves, the Jewish fast day commemorating the siege of Jerusalem thousands of years ago. This blog was founded ten years ago to help in anyway possible to help prevent another assault on Jerusalem, only this time with our own consent. God blessed this good intention and this effort to the point that little did I suspect but just 6 months later, in writing to this blog, God inspired me to compose the Everyone Wins Peace Plan.

Everyone Wins is based on these core concepts:

A good peace is good for all good people.

Peace does not wait for war to reset the playing field. Peace prevents war.

What terrorists want is not equal to what good people want.

Terrorists are anti-ethical to civilization. No peace that makes sanctuary for them in strategic points of a nation's heartland has any real expectation to achieve lasting peace.

Only a plan that can fit into the prophecies of the messianic age can possibly have a real chance of success. A plan that, for example, would try to divide the very place that the seal of world peace, the Holy Temple is, could not possibly be effective. This emanates from a pragmatic attitude of God being real and Scripture being the best intel one could hope for. It is guaranteed to be so.

Ten years ago, Jordan is Palestine was a known peace plan that fit this bill at the time, but it put the power to fulfill it, in the hands of a foreign government. The Kingdom of Jordan would have to agree. This makes it implausible. Therefore another peace plan that retains Jerusalem was needed. One that allowed for unilateral implementation.

More so, Abraham, the forefather of Jews and Arabs, did not rejoice at the destruction of the wicked cities in the vicinity of Sodom. He prayed for them to be saved if there are righteous among them. Thus there is no religious imperative to treat innocent Arabs as one would terrorists. Why should they be made homeless?

So another method was needed. A plan that retains the land needed for the prophecies of world peace to occur, merciful towards enemies, but strong against terrorists. Someone who understands these factors should write a plan to deal with this. Also I am among the few who write on these matters publicly, who attempt to adhere to the Torah from Sinai completely. The Torah that commands, “Do not stand still by the blood of your fellow (i.e. do not do nothing when your fellow’s life is in danger.)” (Leviticus 19:16) I felt I had no choice but to try.

So I accepted the responsibility to be open to God's inspiration on where we should go to find peace based on all these factors. God blessed me to do so. But it remains His inspiration. It must be implemented by the government of the people of Israel. But at least it is on the table.

To date no plan has come out that equals Everyone Wins. But I have to admit that this must be from Heaven. Just as beautiful music can come to the world through a highly imperfect composer, this plan somehow came through me, for whatever reason. So I wanted just to say thanks to HaShem/God for helping me to be the first to write about it.

Give thanks to the Lord because He is good, for His kindness is eternal. ...To Him Who performs great wonders alone, for His kindness is eternal. (Psalm 136:1 & 4)

It seems to me that based on the trend from 3 USA administrations we have thus far shared since this blog began, and considering that the alternative plans offered by leading Israelis in the past 10 years have been inching closer toward our way of thinking, it seems that it is just a matter of time until the things we wrote about here in this blog regarding the Everyone Wins Peace Plan, will occur as the true and lasting peace that Israel and the world needs. But I only continue to promote the Everyone Wins Peace Plan, because there is simply no plan it's equal. This is God's project and if a better plan would come along, I remain prepared to support that instead. But as of this writing there is no true competition.

Blessed is the Lord God, the God of Israel, Who performs wonders alone. And blessed is His glorious name forever, and His glory will fill the entire earth. Amen and amen. (Psalm 72:18 & 19)

The main thing is that true peace come. May true peace come swiftly in our days. May it soon be so, by the grace of God.

Such an entity, should they become a state, would become more roguish than the states that currently sponsor them that have at least historic moments of normative philosophies in their international relations.

All member states must desire peaceful coexistence or they cannot be considered member states. While philosophical extremists can say whatever they like, terrorist ideology is beyond the pale of normative international relations. Comparable to a shopping mall; just as you need everyone to be dedicated to avoiding violence before they enter. Similarly there is a normative expectation for an applicant state. It is a social contract expected from everyone who shops at a mall. There are reasonable expectations from applicant nations as well. Hamas is inherently disqualified from joining civilized nations and also Israel never intended to give them Gaza. Therefore to encourage Hamas control of Gaza is illegitimate as a goal towards the path of achieving worldwide peace among nations states.

During Hamas' drive to continue ties with arms supplier Iran, we need to put more pressure up against their false claims to Gaza. Under international law, there is no protection for non nation entity based terrorists who are trying to form a rogue state. There is no international law that grants diplomatic immunity to Hamas to form a terrorist state before it has even achieved statehood. Pro Israel advocates should emphasize this fact more often.

Today I met Prof. Eugene Kontorovich for the first time. Though we have spoken previously, via electronic means. I reiterated my position as taken in our previous discussion, on my view that Gaza does not belong to Hamas even under International Law. (as written about in this blog at this URL: <a href="https://jerusalemdefender.blogspot.com/2015/04/gaza-and-one-state-solution.html" style="background-color: #fff3db; color: #1b0431; font-family: georgia, "times new roman", sans-serif; font-size: small;">Gaza and a One State Solution<span style="background-color: #fff3db; color: #1b0431; font-family: georgia, "times new roman", sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">) It was that meeting today that inspired this essay.
The Temple Mount is the heart and soul of Jerusalem and Israel. Surrendering governorship of the Temple Mount to the Waqf is not explainable from a Zionistic perspective. It is nonsensical from a strategic perspective. It is not excusable from a Torah perspective. In this Essay I do not wish to judge a religious dispute, but show an avenue to national unity that is not being discussed.

From an international perspective, there is nothing wrong in owning your land. The assumption of giving up land is an assault on Zionism. The attempt from four decades ago to falsely claim Zionism as racism was rescinded by the U.N. The U.N.'s current policy is a form of repentance for repealing Zionism-is-racism, by pressuring Israel to surrender the land of their own accord to a known terrorist supporting entity. Zionism-is-racism was lighter than attempting to force a permanent partnership with someone who wants to kill the new partner. We can't live in the mindset of the U.N., especially when it has stopped being an honest broker long ago.

The actual movement for Jewish rights on the Temple Mount should not center around the Jewish right to only pray there, but their God given right to govern and build there as well.

Not equal rights to pray, but equal rights to manage your own religion's holiest site on Earth. The Muslims do it in Mecca, the Catholics in Rome, and the Jews should do it in Jerusalem.

From an internal perspective, if it is OK to build on the Golan without asking the U.N. each time, why not on the place we are guaranteed to build on by prophecy, a prophecy that even Islam admits is true?

Israel's policy has been to ignore all world opinion on the Golan. Why should the Temple Mount be different? Do what is truly best for you.

Why take a poll of only those who do not love you regarding the Temple Mount and not ask those who do love you? Israel only seems to ask the PLO and the U.N. It does not take polls or referendums on what Israelis feel about the status quo on the Temple Mount.

The PLO has shown they want to use the Mount as a strategic spark to ignite unrest. This time even when Israel did nothing they still are trying to use the Temple Mount for violence. Therefore strategic concerns are no longer a reason to delay full control of the Temple Mount.

If you can't explain control of the Temple Mount, how do you explain control of anything? King David bought it 3000 years ago and it is at the center of our prayers.

First thing to do, you don't need to explain anything, don't let haters hate at your expense.

Second, Land for Peace is anti Zionistic. Give into it no longer.

Third, religious rights of your people matter, stop offending Jews by ignoring their right to the Temple Mount.

It makes no sense to delay this any longer, from a strategic perspective, since the violence in the streets was part and parcel of the Waqf withdrawal from the Temple Mount. It was not Israel forcing them out and then there was violence. They withdrew to make an excuse for violence.
(In basketball that would be called an offensive foul. Charging at and leaping into someone who is doing nothing wrong to draw a foul, is a foul in and of itself.)

To entrust the Waqf again at this juncture is an act of rewarding terror. The U.N. said do it. And the Knesset accepted it, and not one referendum or poll to consider how the constituency feels about it.

The same U.N. that advised Israel to give ISIS the Golan Heights prefers the Waqf remain in control of the Temple Mount. What does that tell you?

Israel never budged on sharing the Golan, but Israel immediately heeded to return governorship to a pro violence organization that does not allow the Mount to be a holy place for all peoples. Israel needs to no longer take advice on these kinds of internal matters from the U.N.

Prime Minister Netanyahu correctly told the world a year ago that Israel will never give up the Golan. Even more firm than Israel's right to the Golan is Israel's right to the Temple Mount. Why not apply the same wisdom there? If the Knesset feel uncomfortable dealing with religious issues, and consider themselves less religious than the Waqf, there are more religious people in Israel than there are in Waqf who would be better caretakers than the Waqf is able, who would ensure, as a matter of faith, that no violence issues forth from the Holy Mountain.

Rather than allowing the Waqf to take back governorship of the Mount, it was upon the Knesset to recognize that all this was an offer from Heaven to retake the Temple Mount to allow it to be a true house of prayer for all peoples. Not in a way that would cause war, but delivered gift wrapped. Should the Knesset continue to foolishly cave into U.N. pressure to squander this chance, and continue to deny religious rights? The right still exists for Israel to select a different governor, even today. What is your opinion on this? Who will you share that opinion with?

But this was an important historic moment nonetheless. We were reminded in practical terms, that the Waqf is only a caretaker governor organization under International Law. Israel remains the true owners, even by International Law. This gives tantalizing hope that Moshiach/messiah can come even in an avenue that would allow that age to be ushered in, without the need for any further wars. An End of Days with out lives ending. Only the right of the wicked to oppress the meek need end.

Unifying the Message

Just encouraging Jews to flock onto the Temple Mount is not likely to succeed as a catalyst for real change, as it ignores a vital prerequisite according to many, many leading Rabbis. Many consider, no prayers should be held today, only when the Temple Mount contains the House of Jacob, and the Biblical laws of cleansing and purification are in place, then can people ascend and then also is world peace guaranteed.

Ergo, some rabbis may be strongly against prayer rallies on the Temple Mount, as it is a workaround and a potential delay to the process that must be done to really fix things in the world today and enter the era of no bloodshed, politically, and religiously it is even more complex. Well, we can leave that to the experts, but we need to recognize the reality that the Jewish-prayer-now movement may not have Divine blessing to rid Israel of Waqf rule. A commandment that is fulfilled via a sin is a sin (Talmud, Sukah 30a), and ignoring most of the great Rabbis of a generation is a bad start to attempting to establish a House of Jacob. Hence it can aggravate a lot of the followers of those Rabbis. Thus, politically speaking, it leaves half of your potential supporters at the gate before any potential prayer rally is even announced.

I am not presuming to judge this from the perspective of are these rabbis or those rabbis wrong or right. I am simply objecting to the lack of unity currently in the movement for Jewish prayer on the Temple Mount. I am merely trying to help light a path to unify all potential members of the movement towards the same direction by showing the side of the discussion that is not always reported on in the media. Let's not work around the great Rabbis, let's work with them. Consensus building will draw the combined energy of all lovers of Jewish prayer on the Temple Mount to combine to form a govern-the-Temple-Mount movement.

May the Knesset no longer participate in the continued appointment of the Waqf as the governing authority on the Temple Mount. May the time that the hallowed Temple Mount becomes a house of prayer for all peoples occur swiftly, in our days. May it soon be so, by the grace of God.Rabbi Prof. Alan Friedlanderhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18015225426683353932noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2069657810922176381.post-88570732266217828682017-07-24T17:59:00.000-07:002017-07-24T17:59:12.496-07:00The Temple Mount Must Be The House of God
The Temple Mount is now free of the rule of the Waqf Authority.
PM Netanyahu wisely refused demands to remove newly installed security measures to make Moslems also face the same security rules as Jews and Christians do. Sounds fair, right? A mini intifada in the streets of Jerusalem was the reaction. Having fair rules on the Temple Mount was not Waqf policy, so if they can't get their way, the philosophy of the PLO demands violence.
“It is extremely important that a solution to the current crisis be found by Friday this week,” said Nickolay Mladenov after briefing the UN Security Council.
This is like telling a brain surgeon, "We need to use this operating room in five minutes, just make sure you finish up by then."
Israel needs to be the ones to decide the best timetable and methodology to fix this.
“The dangers on the ground will escalate if we go through another cycle of Friday prayer without a resolution to this current crisis,” he warned.
So in other words, the status quo of Waqf Authority, is not to preserve religious freedom, but a set up for potential violence whenever the PLO does not get it's way.
"'It is critically important that the status quo is preserved in Jerusalem,' he said."
But it is the exact opposite that is true. The status quo places potential intifadas all over the place, like landmines in a public park.

Let the IDF be limited no more. End the status quo, bar the Waqf Authority forever and place the Temple Mount under the control of the Rabbis of Israel as per prophecy. Why fight God-given intel? World peace is guaranteed if Israel controls the Temple Mount.

As in the Book of Isaiah
Chapter 2, verses 2 and 3: "And it shall be at the end of the days, that the mountain of the Lord's house shall be firmly established at the top of the mountains, and it shall be raised above the hills, and all the nations shall stream to it. And many peoples shall go, and they shall say, "Come, let us go up to the Lord's mount, to the house of the God of Jacob, and let Him teach us of His ways, and we will go in His paths," for out of Zion shall the Torah come forth, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem."
And in Chapter 56, verse 7:
"I will bring them to My holy mount, and I will cause them to rejoice in My house of prayer, their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be acceptable upon My altar, for My house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples."

First the House of Prayer must be firmly established as God's house, not a staging ground for bloodshed, and only then can it be a house of prayer for all people and only then can the era of guaranteed World Peace begin. May it soon be so, by the grace of God.
Rabbi Prof. Alan Friedlanderhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18015225426683353932noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2069657810922176381.post-77975739579881711902017-05-22T16:04:00.001-07:002017-05-22T16:06:39.866-07:00Beware the Terrorists in Diplomatic Clothing
There is still a belief that Fatah is somehow a potential partner in peace. President Trump in Saudi Arabia called Hamas a terrorist group, and yet in policy he has also declared Fatah a potential partner in peace. The sooner the real Fatah is revealed, the sooner real peace can have a chance.

If Fatah does not fully separate from Hamas and it's ways, there is no workable Two State Solution. They have been indistinguishable at times. Finding the true nature of Fatah has to be the main priority. Pressure is meaningless without a mechanism that leads to peace beneath the button to press. That mechanism is sincerity in peace making. The main concern is, is sincerity in peace making present in Fatah or not? That should be the first puzzle that the Administration attempts to solve.

To me it is clear, that Fatah is not a peace partner. They are not founded in improving the plight of their people even as a secondary agenda. Their conception of improving matters for their people is to create a front to hide their true intentions behind. They are not just a bunch of angered people who will calm with enough incentives. They are dedicated to hatred, but to guile as well. Even when not in unity government with Hamas, Fatah have continued indoctrination of their youth in violence. But they also fully understand the concept that one closes their mouth and takes foreign "peace" money even while they preserve their burning lust for bloodshed within. Keeping candies at the ready to distribute in celebration the next time an innocent non Muslim is slain. Yes, in case one did not hear the news, in Fatah controlled areas this recently occurred. Not just by Hamas in Gaza. No different than Hamas. Not just far away, but even on border towns in Samaria.

Reread what you have read in reports about Fatah and Hamas, and remember that "Palestinian Authority" is code word for Fatah, not Hamas unless stated specifically otherwise. Do all reports only criticize Hamas but also mention "Palestinian Authority" TV indoctrinating evil to the children. Who runs Palestinian TV? Israel had to destroy broadcast capability 15 years ago, in Fatah's seat of power, Ramallah. Before Gaza fell to Hamas. Think this through. If you longed for independence for your people, and would finally achieve independent authority to do or say what you want, what would the first thing you do be? Wouldn't you want to nurture your people in some way? Fatah, wanted to instill hatred. FATAH desires hatred rather than improvement for their people. Their leaders aggrandize their lot while they keep their people low. Offer them better services than Hamas, to remain in power, but don't steal away the underpinnings of discontent needed to spark a war or intifada when called for according to the leadership elite of Fatah. Hamas later broadcasted from Gaza after Fatah, FATAH, first taught them how the hatred indoctrination is most properly done!

As long as the Israeli government and the West allow themselves to be deceived by Fatah because they have not considered all the possible one state solutions until a workable one is found, then true peace cannot flourish. But as soon as the truth is confronted, and accepted, the sooner a path to true peace can be found and achieved. May it soon be so, by the grace of God.Rabbi Prof. Alan Friedlanderhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18015225426683353932noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2069657810922176381.post-17692432433442941302017-05-07T17:39:00.001-07:002017-05-07T17:39:41.141-07:00Rabbi Benny Elon of Blessed MemoryThe passing of Rabbi Benny Elon is difficult for all lovers of Zion. His Jordan is Palestine peace plan was the first famous plan that did not contradict Torah prophecies. That should tell you right there how good he was to both Heaven and people; desiring peace for humans and in a way that did not risk offense to God.

PM Netanyahu said of him, “My wife and I express deep sorrow at the passing of Rabbi Elon, a lover of the land of Israel, a rabbi and educator, former MK.

"The Rabbi was a man with a pleasant temperament, who worked in his public life both inside and outside the Knesset for the nation of Israel, the Torah of Israel, and the land of Israel. May his memory be a blessing.”

But he was more than that.

Whether or not Rabbi Elon's peace plan becomes the vehicle of the prophesied peace of the future, the outstanding character displayed to publicly stand for a kosher peace plan when everyone else could only talk about how much to divide the Promised Land, is an act of righteousness of historic proportions. It is not an exaggeration to say that he laid a foundation for a peace plan that Moshiach could accept. A kosher peace idea became a topic of daily discourse in the secular State of Israel because of him. That is bringing the study hall to the street and allowing all to share in the ways of peace that Torah brings with it.

Rabbi Elon was the Abraham of peace planners, the first author of a peace plan who did not wage a secular war against God. The Torah would only be given to Moses, but the first covenant to the Jewish people was given by God to and through Abraham. Rabbi Elon will not only be missed, he is simply irreplaceable.

"The Lord gave and the Lord took, may the name of the Lord be blessed."Rabbi Prof. Alan Friedlanderhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18015225426683353932noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2069657810922176381.post-9636308181638913242017-03-08T00:38:00.001-08:002017-03-08T01:14:04.399-08:00The Elements of Peace for Israel
When evaluating peace plans for Israel we need to cover 3 main categories of litmus tests. If we find optimum fulfillment of these values, it is then indicative of a possible plan with real chance of success. These values are, Security, Viability, and Compassion. Security: does it secure real peace. Viability: can it be implemented in actuality. Compassion: do the good people involved still remain good at the end of this or must they compromise their principles in some way, to achieve the greater goal of permanent cession of bloodshed, Or can such noble traits be retained at all if they are not compromised for the greater good.

Security

The most straightforward category given our point in history. History has shown that only with the multi-ethnic IDF in complete control of an area are the rights of all humans in that locale guaranteed. The Palestinian Authority does not pledge rights to Jews, and it does not even guarantee rights to Arabs, especially if they are women and children. The Palestinian Authority has used security control more to further terrorism, than combat it. Territory that was entrusted to them are being used as cities of refuge for terror. The IDF therefore must have control for any peace plan to work.

Viability

If the Palestinian Authority which is essentially a sub entity governor body of the State of Israel, cannot be counted on to make a treaty for the benefit of it's own citizens, then surely another country such as the Kingdom of Jordan is unlikely to take in millions of immigrant Palestinian Arabs, as part of any peace plan. Unilateral control must be retained for a chance at workable political viability. Therefore any plan that depends on a Jordan is Palestine kind of doctrine, is a roadblock to peace making in actuality. Jordan is Palestine covers a lot of the bases of what you want in a peace plan, but it does not deliver peace, due to lack of viable implementation options in real terms.

Compassion

One should not make good people homeless. You can't evict all the Jews from the territories, nor all the innocent Arabs, and still remain the same compassionate democratic state that Israel is today. Neither can Israel whose soul is resting upon the Holy Words of the Torah, forsake land that God gave her via that Torah. So this indicates the need for A) a One State Solution with annexation followed by naturalization of all good people West of the River Jordan. Yet it would be discompassionate to naturalize terrorists as well. Like locking wild animals in within a fence containing children. Only the innocent would suffer if terrorists were trusted like good people dedicated to civilization building. Therefore, B) an exclusion of terrorists from the future united State of Israel would allow a unified state dedicated to truth, justice and the Israeli way. Not only terrorists, C) even codependents to terror are not eligible for naturalization to the State of Israel, unless they renounce terror as an option, and jihad as a goal and agree to join Israel in helping to continue to make a peaceful and vibrant nation for citizens of all races and ethnicities.

There must be no racial discrimination. Evaluation and potential rejection of applicants to naturalization should be based exclusively on their willingness or lack thereof to be civilization builders. Those who would nihilistically prefer everything to crumble so they could get their way, are not possible candidates to join a civilized nation.

For too long many peace plan ideas from the political left felt that a failure to surrender, trade, or otherwise sacrifice an aspect of who Israel is, their heritage, would be a failure to retain their humanity. But the opposite is the case. By seeking what Israel must give up, the question of what Israel must retain never entered the forefront of the conversation on peacemaking. That was the final philosophical leap necessary before true and enduring peace could be brought to the Middle East. Only through compassionate strength could peace be brought to a region with too many bullies.

Demographic concerns are mitigated by two main factors to the peace that I am suggesting. One, many Arabs do not qualify for citizenship under these above stated guidelines so the number of applicants to naturalize is significantly lower than previous projections. Two, a slow but sure staggered transition period toward full citizenship will allow immigration rates of foreign born Jews to mitigate any significant change to electoral balance within the State of Israel.

This is the Everyone Wins Peace Plan that God blessed me to compose nine years ago. If this is the preferred method for peace, by Heaven and the people, may it soon be accepted by the leadership in the State of Israel. May it soon be so, by the grace of God.

Not all Arabs in the disputed territories are the problem. A right wing plan that calls for relocating all Arabs in a Kahane-esque manner is not the correct solution. By placing pressure on the innocent among the Arabs to relocate as well, that implies that they too are the problem. But really it is terrorists that are the problem. They and a lack of willingness on the part of the Knesset to annex and take full responsibility for that which belongs to Israel. The gradual annexation process suggested by the likes of Dr. Martin Sherman, I agree with, but I call for the addition of allowing for innocent Arabs to keep their homes and placing a filter to remove the terrorists.

Peace is not built on fueling societal discontent, but removing the barriers towards satisfaction of the peace loving masses on both sides of a conflict.

Removal of terrorists and their supporters from the naturalization option, and the result would be to make it a smaller naturalization process than implied and not as fearsome to consider, thus the assertion that it is a road to certain demographic doom is unfounded, in my opinion.

Some may look to a million Muslim migrants flooding into Germany and France as reason to not compromise from the absolute stance against allowing Arabs to remain in the territories.

But the Arabs are already there, if the naturalization is staged and filtered, and there are not hate-filled Arabs remaining, then there is no correlation with the German and French models. Reject citizenship to anarchists, but keep civilization builders. The good Arabs will help Israel, not be a burden.

Terrorists need to go. Compensation or no. Societal codependents to terror, who refuse peace, can be relocated under a method such as the Kahane style compensation plan Dr. Sherman suggests. But good people should not be expelled from their homes. Jew or Arab alike.

Post filtration of terrorists and their supporters, a majority of Arabs may not remain in the land, but the righteous and innocent minority should have their rights protected. For civilization to progress, good people must have their rights protected.

Must all roses be destroyed if they be found on thorn bushes? Rather, even the thorn bush should be spared if that is what keeps the roses healthy. If policy to good people is the same as the consequences given to supporters of terror, justice is surely lacking. Israel does not need to forsake justice to gain security and peace. Indeed it must not.

Our mutual forefather Abraham prayed for mercy for sinful cities, if only a few righteous be found among them. We cannot consider a policy of quickly removing Arabs LEST we find righteous among them. That is not the legacy of Abraham, that is not who we are, and that is not what we should do.

As to the misinterpretation by some on the right that Talmudic law prohibits keeping the innocent among the Arabs, apparently based on some things that Rabbi Meir Kahane wrote. Please allow me to reassure, it is not a hindrance to naturalization, as I previously discussed 8 years ago on my blog. Whereas creation of a terrorist state from out of parcels of the Holy Land, however, would violate the prohibition (of Lo Techanem). Therefore, naturalizing innocent Arabs is kosher, giving terrorists strategic footholds in your land is not.

May this realization spread fully among those in the political right of Israel that do not yet accept this. May this soon be so, by the grace of God.Rabbi Prof. Alan Friedlanderhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18015225426683353932noreply@blogger.com0
